Bedford Car & Van Hire

The Enterprise car and van hire branch in Bedford is east of the town centre on Caxton road, a direct bus journey from Bedford Station on the number 4 or 905 bus.

If you live in Bedford you may need to hire a van to move house or pop down to Ikea in Milton Keynes to pick up some new furniture. You'll find a good selection of small, medium and large vans to suit your needs at the branch.

When your car breaks down and you need a replacement or you only need a car for a specific length of time, we can help. We have a wide range of cars, people carriers and SUVs so you’ll find the right car for you. And if getting to the branch is a problem, we can even come and collect you.

Visiting Bedford and the Area

With great transport links it's no surprise that Bedford is in the London commuter belt, with many residents working in Central London. The town has a large Italian community, so you'll find plenty of excellent Italian food in the area along with a great choice of other restaurants, bars and cafés.

If shopping is more your thing, all of the high street stores can be found in the Harpur Shopping Centre near St Paul's church.

The River Ouse cuts through the town and you can walk most of the way along the banks of the river through parks and residential areas into the centre.

Daytrips around Bedford

Bedford is only about 30 miles from Cambridge, perfect for a daytrip to do a bit of punting on the river and visit the colleges. Take the A428 east, then the A1303 and you can drop your car at the Park and Ride, giving yourself the flexibility of no-hassle parking without the restrictions of train timetables.

You may also be interested in a trip to Bletchley Park Museum, about 20 miles south-west of Bedford where history was made, and while you’re there pop into the National Museum of Computing and compare your smartphone with the ICL 2966 from 1984, that takes up an entire room!
