The essential items you will need to bring to an Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch when hiring a vehicle are:

  • a valid drivers licence
  • valid ID
  • a credit or debit card.

You will also need to prove you are over 25 years of age, and there may be additional documentation required for international drivers.

We accept all major debit cards except for Maestro, Electron, Solo and pre-paid cards. To hire our 4x4s and premium vehicles, we require a credit card. All cards MUST have the main driver's name on it.

Our prices may vary because car hire prices are based on various factors such as, vehicle size, seasonality, length of rental, vehicle make, availability and location. Customers are advised to start the booking process to determine the exact price.

You can modify or cancel your reservation via our website or mobile app. If you prepaid your booking and you cancel 3 days or more before your specified pick up time you will receive a full refund of the total amount. To extend your car rental, you can click “Call to Extend Your Rental” in our mobile app. You can also call your rental branch or 0800 800 227 to extend your reservation.

The Enterprise car and van hire branch in Salisbury is on the corner of Telford road and Stephenson road, less than a 15-minute-walk from Salisbury station, so conveniently central. If, however, you can’t get to the branch to collect your hire car or van, we can come and pick you up, just contact the branch to arrange it.

Visiting Salisbury and the Area

Whether you’ve been to Salisbury before or not, you’ll definitely have heard of the Cathedral, an extraordinary example of medieval architecture and home to the Magna Carta. 

The city itself is pretty and historic, set on the river Avon and perfect for a short break or a base for visiting the area. 

With the New Forest and the beach at Southbourne under an hour away on the A338, a rental car gives you the freedom to take off for a day out with friends or family.

 

Things to See Near Salisbury

The prehistoric stone circle at Stonehenge and the Iron Age fort of Old Sarum are both within a short drive of the city. If your tastes run to the more ornate, don’t miss Wilton House, home to the Earls of Pembroke since the 1540s. The stunning 17th century interiors include an impressive art collection including works by van Dyck, Brueghel and Rembrandt. 

While you’re in the area, why not pop into Downton Abbey for afternoon tea? Highclere Castle, where the show was filmed, is just 50 minutes from Salisbury on the A34.

Activities Near Salisbury

Golfers can play 18-holes at Salisbury and Wilts Golf Course to the west of the town and there's a driving range on Wilton Road.

The more adventurous can try tandem skydiving at two locations within a short drive of town and, if you prefer a bit of luxury with your thrills,  take a champagne hot air balloon flight over Salisbury plain. 

For those who prefer to keep their feet firmly planted on the ground, there are plenty of cycle and walking routes around the town. Hard core walkers can do the 34-mile Avon Valley Path which starts at Salisbury.

Things to do with Kids Near Salisbury

There are two escape rooms in Salisbury, perfect if you fancy being locked in a room with your family and having to solve clues to get out. If the weather is nice you might prefer to do a Treasure Trail around the city, you can download the maps online or buy them locally and it's a great way to discover the town.

Younger kids will enjoy a morning at River Bourne Community Farm where they can pet and feed the farm animals and go on nature trails.

Salisbury Museum also runs Family Discovery Days with events and activities devised to engage and educate for all ages.
